Roussillon is a region in the south-west Mediterranean Coast of France. It combines the cultures of France, the Mediterranean, and the Catalan of the Pyrenees.

Small narrow alleys, palm trees, Catalan archways, improvised "sardanes" (Catalan dance) in the middle of summer.....strolling in this ancient capital of the kingdom of Majorca, one is exactly not in France anymore.

Magnificent monuments, such as the "Palais des Rois de Majorque", the Castillet, the "Loge de Mer" or the Campo Santo remind us that Perpignan has been covetted by Spain and France. Catalane in the heart, Perpignan expressses its difference in every way. Immortalized by Dali to make its train station the center of the world, Perpignan will seduce you by its exteme diversity.

Perpignan is the meeting point of all the routes which lead to the seaside, the mountains, and also all the other cultural environments such as churches, abbeys, Citadels, treasures of art etc. These are representations of ten centuries of history which makes this city a proof of the richness and the creativity of the Mediterranean civilization..

Beaches are very popular for the holiday visitor, and lots of water related activities are organized on the beach or in close vicinity. Along the Cote Vermeille the following beach sites are well visited and offer a wide choice of hotels, restaurants, cafés, bars as well as water sports. Camping is equally popular, and many sites rent mobile homes and small bungalows.
